I will be participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk from Baltimore to Washington DC. May 3rd to 5th.. It's 72 hours of all-out commitment to the cause-a living, moving monument to the power of human kindness. We're walking to honor our loved ones, to celebrate breast cancer survivors, to help more people survive this deadly disease, and ultimately, to find the cure that will eradicate breast cancer for good.
I have never done anything like this before and it has so far been tougher than I expected. Not only in the training- (I thought walking was no big deal) but also in the fundraising.
I decided to walk because I know people with Breast Cancer and since I have started fundraising I have met many more.
Funds raised by the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Days support five areas of the breast cancer cause: medical research, prevention, treatment and cure of breast cancer; clinical care for breast cancer patients; financial assistance and support services for survivors, patients and their families; educational seminars; and community-based early detection programs across the country. There is a particular focus on reaching medically underserved women.

Breast cancer touches nearly all of us, whether we're women or men, old or young. A woman's chance of having breast cancer during her lifetime is ONE in EIGHT. Your chance of knowing this woman is almost 100%.
